ISLAMABAD/BEIJING: China and Pakistan have strengthened their agricultural cooperation with the inauguration of the Belt and Road Joint Laboratory for Biological Resources and Green Smart Agriculture in Arid Regions in Shaanxi Province, marking a significant step toward promoting smart agriculture, research collaboration and sustainable farming practices. According to Professor Zhang Lixin, the Chinese director of the laboratory, the joint research platform will focus on six key areas: germplasm resources and intelligent breeding, smart crop selection, agricultural data platforms, intelligent crop and livestock production, precision farmland management, and artificial intelligence-assisted decision-making for sustainable agriculture.
